After the first consultation, if the patient would like to know in more detail the answer to questions like how the post treatment change will be, we advocate this procedure. We take impressions in order to fabricate models of the teeth and so we can then study the case with more detail. If needed, wax ups are made in order to evaluate what can be done and how could we do it. Photography also plays a big role here. During the assessment, several pictures are taken of the teeth and smile. We then “create” a smile digitally. This will be useful for us to have an idea of your expectations, for the patient to have an idea of what our plan is, and to guide the dental technician during the fabrication of the wax up. For every case we can simulate its outcome before the treatment starts. We use visual communication with our patients, showing them what they can get, how they would look, in a way that everyone understands.
